Basic Tools to get You started:

Round nose Pliers

Picture
To start making jewelry, you will need four basic tools to begin.  A roundnose plier, to make your wire and loops round.  This tool isn't for crimping, cutting, or anything else.  It's just to make something round.

needle nose pliers

Two pairs of needle nose pliers.  One will be the holder, the other one will be used  for wrapping wire.  These pliers won't make things round.

wire cutters

Cutters, for cutting your wire.  Most cutters aren't made to cut steel, memory wire, hangers, etc.  If you cut these types of metal wire, they may become too dull or nicked to cut softer metals , like copper and silver. If you plan on cutting up old vintage jewelry, or hard metals, plan on getting an extra cutter just too be used for your softer metal wires.
